Computer-Based Experimental
Equipment
This equipment was developed under independent
contracts with The Chemical Pharmaceutical Research Institute (NIHFI),
Sofia, Bulgaria. It automated experiments that involved acquisition of
large amounts of data over a long period of time, and provided a tool for
analysis of the data collected, including parameter measurement and trending,
comparison between experiments, archival and statistics. It also provided
real-time control and stimulation signals during the experiments, wherever
necessary.
This equipment was developed in close collaboration
with Professor Mile Taskov, MD (NIHFI), and Professor Kiril Boev,
PhD, DSc (Institute of Biophysics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences).
It was used for testing a series of Bulgarian cardiological drugs and pharmaceuticals
like Digitaline, Nifedipine, Isodinit,
Monisid, Cordarone, Corinfar, Isolanid, Prenylamin, Captopril, Lanatidin,
Lanitop, Reserpin, etc.,
developed at NIHFI, Sofia.
