Attention attraction when working with young children
A combination of sound and blinking attracts the child’s attention well. Additionally, we use the sound to modulate the blinking target, and thus better attract the child’s attention, achieving improved fixation (Fig. 1).
The best way to modulate the target is to use pulse-width modulation (PWM), as shown below:
A pilot study has shown that the time during which the test subjects were fixating on the target was longer when the target was modulated by a tune, than the time when the target was modulated with a simple monotonous beep.
